“Good morning, Y/N,” Billie murmured, her voice soft against my ear. I knew she was awake, watching me. “Hey, Bils,” I replied, stretching languidly.
Another morning waking up beside Billie. Tomorrow, we leave for Hawaii. A thrill of anticipation bubbled within me. Three days with Billie, bathed in sunshine and saltwater… I was already counting down the moments.
“Want to head downstairs for breakfast?” I asked.
“Sounds perfect,” she said, her smile mirroring my own.
We padded down to the kitchen, grabbing boxes of Peanut Butter Cap’n Crunch. We settled onto the couch, flipping through channels until a familiar, brightly colored show appeared on the screen. It was… Disney Channel. And somehow, both Billie and I were completely captivated.
“Oh my god, this is the best show,” Billie breathed, eyes glued to a rerun of *Good Luck Charlie*.
“Yes!” I echoed, grinning.
We continued eating and watching, lost in the silly, saccharine world of the show. My mom was out running errands, and had decided to join us in Hawaii, spending time with Maggie. They'd become inseparable, these two.
“So, what do you want to do today?” I asked, turning to Billie.
“I don’t know… I need to pack, and maybe swing by my place to grab a few things,” she said, tracing patterns on her cereal box.
“Okay, let’s go do that, then I can pack,” I offered.
We walked to Billie’s house, still in our pajamas, not bothering to change. Watching her walk, dressed in my clothes, felt… surreal. I couldn't believe I was here. I still didn't know if I would ever get over this.
Inside, Finneas was lounging on the couch with a girl I hadn’t met before.
“Hey, Y/N, this is my girlfriend, Claudia,” he said, gesturing with a smile.
“Hello,” I said, offering a warm smile.
“Hey, Y/N,” Claudia said cheerfully.
We headed upstairs to Billie’s room. The red light still glowed softly from the speaker, casting a warm hue over the room. It felt… safe.
Billie pulled a suitcase from the closet, and began pulling clothes from shelves, piling them inside.
“So, what are you most excited about in Hawaii?” she asked, her voice soft.
“Well, mostly just being around you all the time,” I admitted, feeling my cheeks flush. “But I'm looking forward to just hanging out at the beach.”
“Yeah, me too,” she said, her smile wide and genuine. She reached over and pressed her lips to mine, a soft, lingering kiss. I was utterly, hopelessly lost in her.
She pulled back, her eyes searching mine. “I have a question, but I don’t want you to think I’m rushing things,” she said, her voice hesitant.
“What is it?” I asked, my heart pounding.
“Would you… would you like to be my girlfriend?”
The question hit me like a wave. We’d met barely a week ago, and now… Now she wanted to be with me. I couldn’t have been happier.
“Gladly,” I breathed, before rising to kiss her again. I pulled back, gazing into her eyes.
“I don’t think I’ll ever get over you being mine,” she whispered, her voice laced with emotion. The words sent a shiver down my spine.
“Me either,” I replied, my voice barely a whisper.
Billie finished packing, and we walked back to my place, suitcase in tow.
We got back inside and went up to my room.
“Which one?” I asked, holding up two swimsuits, as Billie sat on my bed.
“You should try them on so I can decide,” she said, a playful smirk tugging at her lips.
“Fine, but I’m changing in the bathroom, you pervert,” I joked, turning to head for the door.
I emerged, wearing the first swimsuit.
“Damn, mama, you look fire,” Billie breathed, her eyes raking over my body. My cheeks burned, but I couldn’t help but smile. She had this way of making me feel… seen.
“Well, thanks,” I said, locking eyes with her.
“Come here,” she said, beckoning me closer. “Sit right… here.”
She pulled me onto her lap, her arms wrapping around my waist. She kissed my lips, then moved to my neck, her touch sending shivers down my spine.
“I’m home!” My mom called from downstairs.
“Fuck,” I muttered under my breath. “Sorry, she’s cockblocking us,” I said with a chuckle.
“It’s fine, mama, we’ll have to pick up where we were once we’re in Hawaii,” Billie said, her smirk playful.
“Well, I guess I’m taking this bikini,” I said, a smile playing on my lips.
