Anika sat in their room, replaying the romantic moments shared with Shivaay before their marriage.

“Shivaay, please… someone will come,” she murmured, struggling to slip from his grip. They were in the college store room.

“Not for touching, Anika,” he murmured, pressing a soft kiss to her neck.

“You’re insufferable,” she said, though enjoying the sweet attention he lavished on her. He continued to pepper her neck with kisses.

“Shivaay…” she breathed.

Now, three months into their marriage, everything had changed. He barely spoke to her, and a honeymoon hadn’t been discussed. It wasn’t that she desperately craved intimacy, but she missed the old Shivaay, who wouldn’t miss a chance to ignite their romance.

“I have no idea what’s happened to you, Shivaay,” she thought, but her unwavering trust prevented her from questioning his silence.

“We shouldn’t do this, Papa. It won’t be fair to her,” Shivaay said, confronting his father.

“Do you feel something for her, then? Something that makes you care so deeply?” Tej countered.

“It’s not that, Papa, but I don’t like it. Anika has already transferred half the property to her name, and after her, I will get everything.”

“See, Shivaay, if they divorce, she can claim alimony. But with my plan, if it succeeds, three-quarters of the Singhanias’ property will be ours.” Tej stated.

Shivaay, too, wanted revenge on the Singhanias, but not through Anika. He wasn’t in love with her, yet her unwavering trust and affection troubled him.

“Do you trust me, Anika?” he asked her in the canteen.

“More than I trust myself. I have complete faith that you’d never do anything to hurt me,” she replied, her hand resting on his.

“I love you, Shivaay.”

“I love you too,” he replied.

Both spoke the same words, yet their meanings were worlds apart. Hers was pure, his hollow.

“Okay, Father, I’ll do anything for the Oberois,” Shivaay rose from his seat and left Tej’s cabin, a determined glint in his eyes.

That evening, Anika waited impatiently for Shivaay, having prepared *halwa* for him for the first time. She was notoriously clumsy in the kitchen, but Jhanvi had assisted her and tasted it.

“Today, *bhaiya* will fall in love with you again, *bhabi*,” Rudra winked at Anika, and she smiled.

“That’s all it will take… for him to love me as he once did,” she murmured under her breath.

“*Bhabi*, why didn’t you insist on a honeymoon?” Om asked her.

“He’s very busy with work,” Anika offered as an excuse.

“Shivaay works every day. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t push for what you want, Anika,” Jhanvi told her. Time spent with Jhanvi, Om, and Rudra was the best in Oberoi Mansion; they never made her feel like an outsider.

As Shivaay entered the mansion with Tej, Anika’s eyes lit up with excitement.

He walked directly to their room, ignoring the greetings of the others. Anika carried the bowl of *halwa* to him.

“You’re back?” she asked.

“Do you not see me?” he retorted.

“I made *halwa* for you. Taste it, please,” she said, approaching him.

“I don’t feel hungry. I had something at the office,” he said, avoiding her gaze.

“What is this? I made this especially for you, for the first time,” she began to follow him around the room with the bowl.

“Please… please…” she pleaded. Irritated by her childish persistence, he snatched the bowl from her hand and threw it against the wall.

“Are you a child? Stop acting like a typical Indian housewife!” he lashed out, his anger erupting. He stormed out of the room.

She collapsed in tears, devastated by his behavior. “What is it, Shivaay, that’s tearing you away from me?” she whispered to herself. Tears streamed down her cheeks like a monsoon rain.

It was midnight, but Shivaay hadn’t returned. When Jhanvi asked, she calmly told her he’d gone to a friend and lied that Shivaay had tasted her *halwa*.

Around 1 am, Shivaay stumbled into their room, his demeanor unsteady. Anika was startled by his vulnerability.

“Shivaay, have you been drinking?” she asked.

“Shut up. You’re doing this.”

“What have I done?”

“It’s not like I meant to have any physical contact with you” he slurred.

“But I cant resist u” he whispered seductively in her ears. Shivers ran down her spines. In no time, he latched his lips with hers. This sudden action shocked her but she gave up to his touch. She was feeling him for the first time after marriage and it felt beyond amazing
