I write stories about people patching up what’s broken, whether it’s an engine or a life. Growing up in those little towns across Ohio and Pennsylvania definitely shaped how I see the world, and I think that comes through in my work. I’m always chasing that feeling of gasoline and rain on a tin roof, trying to get it right on the page.
