Callum’s POV
Two PM. Two solid hours of math, and I’m done. “That’s it, no more. I can’t stomach another digit,” I said, leaning back against the headboard.
Savannah laughed, collapsing face-down on my bed. I let my gaze drift south. God, her ass looked good. A need, sharp and insistent, flared through me.
I couldn’t resist. “Have you ever…done anything with a guy?” I asked, keeping my voice casual.
She took a beat, answering slowly. “Um, what do you mean?”
“You know,” I pressed, frustration rising. “Like…anything.” Did I need to spell it out for her?
“Nope. Nothing.”
She was lying. I could feel it. “What? Really?”
“Yep.”
An idea sparked. “Looks like I’ll be the first then.” Savannah’s cheeks flushed again, a little blush that just fueled my smirk. She’s totally falling for me.
“Hmm, do you really think you’d be the first?” She returned, a slyness in her tone.
I frowned, confused. “Why? Are you talking to another man?”
“Nope.” She snapped it off with a tone that was too quick.
She was hiding something. “Is that why you ghost my texts? Or respond like you hate me?” It was enough to make her sit up.
“I told you I was busy. And I don’t send nudes to guys I’m not even dating.”
“People do that before dating.”
“No, they don’t. I know how it works.”
I scoffed, disgusted. “Really? Because I don’t see anyone wanting to be with you.”
She paused, her face hardening. “Excuse me? You’re single too, you know.”
“I don’t date. I don’t waste my time on…things like that.”
Her brow furrowed. “But I thought you wanted something with me?”
I laughed, a harsh, cynical sound. “With the way you’re acting?”
“What have I done?” She asked, her voice tight with frustration.
“You’re acting like a bitch. If you don’t want to send pictures, stay away from me. I have people waiting for me.”
She froze, her hand clenched in a fist. She stood by the bed, her eyes blazing with fury. Good. “I’m taking you back to college. I’ve had enough of you.”
I moved towards the front door, hearing her footsteps behind me. She was lucky I wasn’t just dumping her on the street. Normally, I’d drag girls like her out into the rain. I was only letting her ride because I needed to fuck her at the party.
Savannah’s POV
Callum dropped me off at school. I could feel his anger radiating off him. For the first time in my life, I didn’t feel safe around him. I thought he was going to hit me. I was so relieved to be in my car, considering how recklessly he drove. He was speeding, cutting corners, and tailgating. Everyone was laying on their horn, venting their frustration, but it only seemed to make Callum angrier.
When I got home, I spammed the doorbell. Why were my parents taking so long to answer? It was infuriating. They kept putting off making a copy of the house key.
My brother, Adam, came out of his house. “You know, you’re just wasting your time with that,” he said.
“Why?” I snapped.
“They’re on holiday for two weeks.”
“What? Mom and Dad? Why now?” I blurted out.
“They wanted a break.”
“They couldn’t have told me?”
“They bought the tickets last night. Found a good deal. Mom tried to tell you this morning, but you ran off.”
“They planned to tell me on the day they left? A little notice would have been nice.” I needed to talk to her, to scream at her.
“They only booked the tickets last night. They found a pretty good deal so they took it.”
I was jealous they didn’t invite me, but glad they were getting some time to themselves. “Well, what am I supposed to do now?”
“You’re supposed to live in my house. No funny business.”
“But my stuff?” I pointed at my home. “And what do you mean by ‘funny business’?”
“Don’t worry, I’ve got the key. Go get your things.” He tossed me the key. “And I mean, don’t act up in my house, alright?”
I rolled my eyes and went into my house.
I packed up my clothes and a few revision books and headed to Adam’s. I was sick of my parents treating me like a child, just because I was the youngest.
I knocked on Adam’s front door, and Matt answered. “Hey, Sav.” His deep blue eyes drifted down my body. He was so gorgeous, but I didn’t want anyone’s attention right now.
I shook my head. “Move out of the way, please.”
He looked surprised. “Woah, what’s up?”
“Just stay out of my way and let me be.”
“Let me help you with your bags, at least.” He offered.
“I can handle it myself, thanks.” I pushed past him, forcing him to step aside.
I went upstairs. Okay, which room is mine? I knocked lightly on each door and opened it, searching for an empty room. I found one that looked untouched. I put my suitcase down, took off my jacket, and lay down on the bed. I needed sleep. My eyelids felt heavy, and I let them fall shut.
I woke up and looked at the clock. Eight PM. Instantly, I thought of Callum. I understood why he was mad. I didn’t put in effort to reply to his texts, and I tried to hit him. He deserved an apology. I called him, but it went straight to voicemail. “Ugh, Callum, please just answer.”
“Who’s Callum?” A deep voice said. I jumped, trying to see who it was. The lights were off, so it took a second to notice Theo sitting in a chair in the corner of the room. He was wearing sweats and was shirtless, exposing his abs. He was hot. “Oh, shit, I didn’t mean to scare you.” He chuckled.
I needed to control myself.
“Um, why are you in my room?” Was he watching me sleep? What the…
“I should be asking you the same thing.” He came towards me. “I came to my room and saw your body lying on my bed. Were you trying to give me a signal?” He walked to the edge of the bed beside me, took my jaw in his hand, and started to lean down. I was frozen. Why wasn’t I pushing him away? I barely knew him.
He pulled away and laughed. “Aww, why the sad face? Did you really want a kiss?” He said mockingly. “I’m sorry, but I don’t go for girls who have a man…and you’re Adam’s sis.”
“I don’t have a man.”
He smirked. “Hmm.”
“I’m serious. I don’t have a man.” I didn’t even know why I was trying to convince him.
“Oh, really? Then who’s Callum?”
“He’s a…a friend.”
He scoffed. “A friend, yeah.”
Our attention was taken by my phone buzzing on the bed. Callum was calling me.
