No one's POV

Almost two years into their marriage, Y/N and Jeon Jungkook existed as strangers under the same roof. They occupied separate bedrooms and their interactions were limited to perfunctory exchanges regarding work. The pretense of a married life masked a cold reality: their union was born not of love, but obligation. Y/N, a diligent employee, lived in the shadow of her father, the company’s CEO, whose decisions dictated the trajectory of their lives.

Flashback Conversation

“Mrs. Lee, summon Ms. Y/N and Mr. Jeon to my office immediately,” my father commanded his assistant.

“Ms. Y/N and Mr. Jeon, Mr. Choi requests your presence in his office,” Mrs. Lee informed us, her tone neutral.

Y/N POV

I was meticulously arranging paperwork when Mrs. Lee appeared, requesting both Mr. Jeon and myself to attend a meeting with my father. A knot of apprehension tightened in my stomach. What could he possibly want to discuss? Our interactions with Mr. Jeon were minimal, consisting primarily of his dismissive remarks: “Y/N, get a life; you look pathetic every day.” I had to admit, my existence felt hollow, a cycle of obedience without thought, a mechanical routine of work and sleep. I wondered what my father would ask of us. Perhaps a new project? Nothing more. What could possibly go wrong? A strange premonition settled over me. I tried to reason with myself. *Be positive, Y/N. What could possibly go wrong?*

“You two are to be married,” Mr. Kim announced, his voice leaving no room for debate.

Jungkook POV

“What?” I demanded, incredulous. “Are you serious, Sir? This can’t be right! I already have a girlfriend!”

Y/N POV

“Father, are you serious?” I asked, my voice laced with disbelief and anger. “What’s gotten into you?”

No one's POV

“Silence,” Mr. Kim retorted, his gaze sweeping over us. “Both of you are being arranged to marry. Your grandfathers have agreed to this arrangement, and their decision is non-negotiable. This also benefits Mr. Jeon; as I prepare to retire, a married CEO is a more palatable image. If you aspire to this position, you must accept this deal.” He paused, his voice hardening. “Reject this, and I’ll relegate both of you to the lowest positions in this company. Is that understood, Ms. Y/N and Mr. Jeon? I expect your answers by tomorrow—yes or no. You may return to your work.”

Y/N POV

The thought of being demoted, of ruining my reputation, was unbearable. I reluctantly agreed. *What else could I do?* It was merely a shared residence, separate lives. “I, Kim Y/N, promise to never fall in love with that cruel bastard and avoid his traps.”

I drifted into sleep, haunted by the prospect of a future spent alongside a man I loathed. What would happen if I continued to waste my life with him?
