Alastor's POV

Lucifer finishes his pancakes hesitantly. Maybe I scared the little guy too much. It's so entertaining though. I take his plate as he gets Charlie. I set the plate on the counter. I'll clean it once he leaves. I escort him out.

"Thank you, again. For helping us."

"Of course."

"Are you coming with us?" Charlie asks.

"I have to do something today, but once I finish, I'll knock on your door. How's that sound, darling?"

"Okay!" Lucifer smiles at his daughter. She looks at him. "Is Uncle Az coming over?"

"I can give him a call. I'm sure he'd love to see you," Lucifer says, ruffling her hair. He looks up at me. "Is it okay if you come over and Azrael is with us?"

"Perfectly fine, dear. If you're busy, I'll let you reunite with Azrael. Family is quite important."

"No!" I raise an eyebrow. "I-I mean... I would like you to meet him. I think you'd like him a lot. Friendly guy."

"Okay. Then I will. See you soon, Luci." Lucifer leaves and I shut the door. I walk into the kitchen and clean Lucifer's and Charlie's plates from breakfast. I dry them and put them away.

Lucifer is such an interesting little man. Why am I so intrigued? So curious. Why do I want to make him terrified until he breaks? But why do I also want to comfort him when he needs it? Why do I want to pick him up and keep him all for myself?

I hear a knock at my door. I stop washing and open it. I see Charlie on the verge of tears.

"Dear, what's wrong?"

"Daddy's b-being beaten up."

"What?! Show me, dear." I quickly grab a kitchen knife and follow Charlie. She leads me to the other side of Lucifer's new home. Two days and he already is in trouble. He's laying on the grass trying to fight off Vox as much as he can. It isn't working out for him.

"Charlie. Go inside, dear. Your father will be okay." She nods and runs inside. "Vox, off of him!"

Vox looks at me, pausing for a second. He lets go of Lucifer and brushes himself off. He's going to flirt, isn't he? Act like nothing has happened. Such a bitch.

"Alastor, my dear. Great to see you again, looking fine as always."

"Vox, enough."

"Come on, Ally. You don't care for this pipsqueak. Do you? When we could be together."

"You've gone insane, Vox." He walks towards me.

"Don't you see, my love? We can rule the media together. Me with my television and popular status on social media and you with your radio. We're a couple made in Heaven."

"We're not a couple. We will never be a couple, Vox. Get that idea out of your thick skull."

"Oh but we will! I know you love me. I just need to bring that part of you out." He pins me against the house. I look at Lucifer, who's struggling to get up. Vox puts a finger under my chin and directs my eyes back at his. I grip the handle on the knife and I stab his shoulder. He backs away in pain. Blood gushes from him, staining his clothes. I lick the bloody knife. Sweet sweet blood. So sweet when fresh.

"Hurt Lucifer again and next time, I won't spare your life."

Lucifer's POV

That was hot. UH. WHAT I MEANT TO SAY IS Alastor is amazing. He didn't have to stab him though and maybe threaten him. But I'm thankful he saved me. I probably might have died if he didn't. I'm glad Charlie went and got him.

Alastor holds out a hand for me. I look up at him as he smiles softly at me. I take his hand and he helps me up.

"I'm sorry," I say.

"Don't be sorry, my good friend. If anything, it's my fault you're roped into this."

"Aren't you going to be late to your thing if you help me?"

"I can reschedule it, Rosie wouldn't mind if she knows it's for a good cause."

"I don't want to be in the way."

"You're fine, besides the bruises and little bleeding. I have all the time in the world to see Rosie. I still might make it if your clean up goes by quickly."

He drags me into his house and sets me on the table. He keeps the knife by me and quickly runs to his place to get a few supplies. Charlie looks at me worried. I smile at her.

"I'm fine, my appleseed. Just a little beaten up."

"Is Alastor going to heal you?"

"He'll try his best."

"I like him a lot, daddy. He's a good friend." I smile at my little girl.

"He is, isn't he." She nods. Alastor walks back into the kitchen and sets down some supplies. He rolls up his sleeves. He's still smiling. How? How does this man always smile? Crazy.

"Take off your shirt."

"What?"

"I need to see if you have any bruises or anything."

"Uh okay." I feel my face get hot as I take my shirt off. He examines my torso, my face only getting hotter and redder. My chest and stomach is littered with bruises.

"He really did a number on you. Excuse my touch."

He places a gentle hand on a bruise, examining it. His hand is too close to my nipple. Too close. I'm going to explode if he keeps touching my chest like this. I let out a shaky breath. He removes his hand and opens a bottle.

"What's that?"

"It'll help heal your bruises faster."

"You mean you're going to rub it in?"

"Is that alright? If you're not comfortable with me doing it, you can. If that's what you-"

"NO! No, uh it's fine. You can do it."

"Alright." He squirts a little bit of the cream onto his hand and rubs it into my bruises.

"That's cold."

"My apologies, darling." He finishes and washes his hands. He looks at my face and wipes some blood off with his thumb. Then he licks the blood off his finger. I find this ho-weird. It's weird. Yeah. Why did he do that?

"You got a busted lip and a black eye. All you have on your face. Seems you have no broken bones or anything that's needed for a hospital visit."

"Thank you, again. I owe you a lot." I chuckle.

"Nonsense. You don't owe me anything, dear. Like I've said before, I'm willing to help no matter the issue."

Then we hear a knock at the door. Alastor looks at me and I shrug. I didn't call Azrael over yet. Charlie looks up at Alastor, who grabs the knife. He walks to the door and opens it.
