Gemma led me to my room after a strained exchange with the assembled “family.” As we reached my door, she indicated the one beside it.

“That’s Harry’s room.”

She then pointed to another door. “The bathroom.” Finally, she gestured towards the last door on this level. “And that’s my room. Your dad and my mom’s room is on the third floor.” She clarified, directing my gaze to the staircase.

We entered my room, and she deposited my suitcases, insisting on carrying them up herself.

“I’ll let you settle in. Call me or Harry if you need anything,” she offered with a warm smile before departing.

I unpacked my clothes and surveyed the room. It was significantly larger than my old bedroom, boasting a generous closet and a balcony overlooking the grounds. Though sparsely furnished, it felt incredibly cozy. I was about to unpack my laptop when a knock echoed through the room.

“Come in!” I called out, intrigued to know who was on the other side.

The door opened slowly, revealing Harry standing in the doorway. My breath hitched.

“Hi… erm… tomorrow we have school, so be ready to leave by 6:30,” he said, looking distinctly uncomfortable.

I found myself unable to tear my gaze away from him. He was breathtaking. I managed a breathless “Okay,” and he retreated, closing the door behind him.

(Harry’s Perspective)

The encounter in Lily’s doorway felt impossibly awkward. Her long, light brown hair was pulled into a messy bun, yet she looked utterly flawless. What am I thinking? I just met her an hour ago, and she’s going to be my step-sister. This girl is off-limits. But I can still admire her, just in my head, right? She’s so naturally beautiful, unlike the vapid girls I usually hang around. As I was turning to leave, I noticed a neon pink bra lying on the floor of her room. A smirk tugged at my lips as I walked the short distance back to my own room.
