Waking Up

I woke with a start, and saw a boy with eyes the color of emeralds speaking to the girl who’d attacked me earlier.

“Are you sure it was him?” she asked.

“He was talking to May,” the boy replied.

“It must be,” she confirmed.

A throbbing pain pulsed at the back of my head. I reached back and felt blood matting in my hair. I winced, closing my eyes.

They turned their heads, their gaze locking on me. The boy knelt, then pressed his hand over my heart.

“Well, he’s definitely human,” he said.

“I… I’m awake too,” I stammered, opening my eyes.

“I’m sorry about my sister. She overreacted. I’m Harry, by the way,” he said, brushing a strand of hair off my forehead.

“My head hurts,” I mumbled, feeling childish and vulnerable.

“I’m sorry,” the girl offered.

Harry placed his hands on the back of my head, and the pain vanished.

“Thanks. I’m Louis,” I said, sitting up.

I looked at him, trying to take him in. Emerald green eyes, curly hair partially hidden by a gray beanie. Black skinny jeans and a gray v-neck shirt revealed glimpses of tattoos. He was… attractive. *No, Louis,* my mind scolded. *You’re straight.*

I looked at him again, and saw he was smiling.

*Okay, maybe I can be bi,* my mind conceded. *He is hot!*

I glanced around and saw his sister was gone.

“I’ll see you soon, Louis,” he said.

I opened my mouth to protest, but he raised a finger to his lips.

“Soon,” he whispered, then vanished.

Soon…

It was creepy, but he was still incredibly attractive.

“Found you!” I heard from across the room. I looked over to see my sister, Daisy.

“You’re the last one found, it’s over!” she said, then ran off.

Six hours later [11:00 PM]

I’d just finished unpacking, and my siblings had fallen asleep an hour ago. I decided to take a shower. I grabbed a large shirt—more like a dress, given it was XL and I wore XXS—a pink towel, a pair of pink boxers, my phone (pink case!), and my favorite strawberry-scented shampoo.

I went to the bathroom connected to my room and set my things on the counter. Then I stripped and jumped into the shower. I started singing along to the first song that came to mind.

“I used to rule the world Seas would rise when I gave the word Now in the morning I sleep alone Sweep the streets I used to own I used to roll the dice Feel the fear in my enemy's eyes Listen as the crowd would sing "Now the old king is dead! Long live the king!" One minute I held the key Next the walls were closed on me And I discovered that my castles stand Upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand I hear Jerusalem bells are ringing Roman Cavalry choirs are singing Be my mirror, my sword and shield My missionaries in a foreign field For some reason I can't explain Once you go there was never Never an honest word And that was when I ruled the world”

“I hear Jerusalem bells are ringing Roman Cavalry choirs are singing Be my mirror, my sword and shield My missionaries in a foreign field For some reason I can't explain I know Saint Peter won't call my name Never an honest word But that was when I ruled the world”

“Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh I hear Jerusalem bells are ringing Roman Cavalry choirs are singing Be my mirror, my sword and shield My missionaries in a foreign field For some reason I can't explain I know Saint Peter won't call my name Never an honest word But that was when I ruled the world”

I finished the song and stepped out of the shower. I dried off with my towel and slipped on my boxers. I turned to grab my shirt, but it was gone! Salt, Pepper, or Patches—my kittens—must have taken it, or maybe Rio, my dachshund puppy. I grabbed my phone and walked out of the bathroom. I saw Salt and Pepper asleep on the foot of my bed. I walked further and saw Patches laying on the hardwood floor, asleep. I picked her up gently, careful not to wake her. I then placed her with Pepper and Salt. Then I headed down two flights of stairs to see what Rio was barking at. I reached the kitchen and saw Rio barking at the wall.

“Rio? It’s just a wall. It’s not going to hurt you.” I said.

Rio turned and ran upstairs.

“Thanks,” I said.

Before I could move, arms wrapped around my waist, pulling me into a chest. The man was at least six inches taller than me.

“I said we’d meet again soon…” a voice murmured.

“H-Harry?”

“Yes, Love?”

“You scared me.”

He released me, and I led him upstairs to my room. The kittens had moved to Rio’s bed. I sat on the bed with Harry.

“What are you doing here?” I asked, yawning and realizing I was only in boxers.

“I needed to tell you something.”

“Can it wait until morning?”

“Sure,” he said, then stood to leave.

“Don’t leave,” I whined.

“Why?” he asked, standing in the doorframe.

“You can stay the night with me,” I blurted out.

“Okay,” he said.

I got up and plugged my phone into charge. When I turned around, I saw Harry had removed his shoes and was unbuttoning his jeans.

“What are you doing?” I asked.

“Well, I’m not sleeping in skinny jeans,” he said, pulling his jeans down.

I grabbed another shirt from my closet and put it on. Then I climbed into bed, and looked back at Harry. He had his shirt off. *Damn, he’s sexy!* Muscles, abs… I just had a flat stomach and girlish thighs. I lay down, and Harry pulled me into his chest, whispering a goodnight.

This boy is turning me gay.

Then I drifted into a dreamless sleep.
