The garden incident

The garden incident

Giyuu had decided to take a quiet stroll through the school's garden after classes. The cherry blossoms were in full bloom, petals drifting lazily through the air. She loved the solitude here; it was her little escape from the chaos of school life.

She wandered down a path lined with flowers, completely alone, humming softly to herself. Her thoughts were peaceful... until suddenly, there was a loud thud.

Sanemi, walking quickly and distracted by his phone, hadn't noticed Giyuu in front of him. He bumped right into her.

"Oh—!" Giyuu reached out instinctively to steady him—but she misjudged her step. Her balance gave way, and with a startled yelp, she tumbled forward... right onto him.

For a moment, the world seemed to stop. Giyuu ended up sitting squarely on top of Sanemi, their faces only inches apart. Her heart raced, and Sanemi's ears burned bright red immediately.

"W-what the—?!" Sanemi exclaimed, fumbling to sit up straight, his hands awkwardly trying to keep her from falling... though she was already clinging slightly to his shoulders.

Giyuu blinked, frozen for a second, then scrambled slightly, trying to regain her composure. "...I'm sorry! I didn't mean—uh—!"

Sanemi's eyes narrowed, though his usual scowl was mixed with a bright blush. "...Damn it, Giyuu... look where you're—" He cut himself off, groaning under his own embarrassment. "...Never mind. Are you okay?"

Giyuu nodded quickly, her cheeks flaming. "Y-yeah... I'm fine. You... you're okay, right?"

"...I'm fine," Sanemi growled, though the red tint in his ears betrayed him. He helped her up, though he lingered just a bit too close, his hands brushing hers accidentally.

Giyuu stepped back, trying to regain her usual calm composure, but she couldn't help noticing the way Sanemi's gaze lingered on her, a mix of annoyance and something softer—something she was starting to understand all too well.

"...Next time, watch where you're walking," he muttered, brushing off his jacket.

"I'll do the same," Giyuu replied, a small smile tugging at her lips despite her embarrassment.

As she walked away, Sanemi watched her go, his hands still tingling from the accidental touch. Damn it... why does she have to make everything so... distracting?
