Jungkook’s gaze lingered on the closed door of Yoongi’s studio. Five hours, at least, without a sound escaping the soundproof walls. He knew Yoongi was pushing himself, refining a new beat, and the strain had been building for weeks. It wasn’s the workload itself, but the mounting pressure that worried Jungkook. He’d seen Yoongi this tense during their debut years, when every move felt scrutinized.

He exhaled, a puff of frustration escaping his lips. The others were already at dinner, enjoying a rare evening out. Yoongi was trapped inside, wrestling with his music. Jungkook admired the rapper more than he often let on, and the helplessness he felt now was a familiar ache. He wanted to offer help, but knew Yoongi’s usual response to such offers. He’d politely, but firmly, reject any assistance. Yoongi wasn’t just tired; he was isolating.

What could he do to break through? He considered barging in to talk, but anticipated the same outcome. Yoongi didn't need a conversation; he needed a reprieve. A small gesture, something to lift the weight of the world from his shoulders. And Jungkook had an idea.

Inside the studio, bathed in the harsh glow of his monitor, Yoongi sat hunched over his workstation. His eyes, gritty with fatigue, scanned the waveforms, searching for that spark of inspiration that would define his latest track. The notes felt flat, the rhythm lifeless. He was chasing a ghost of a melody, and the frustration was mounting.

The door creaked open, then closed with a soft click. Yoongi swiveled around, bracing for an interruption. Instead, he found a large platter placed on his desk, laden with… lamb skewers.

The aroma of grilled meat and scallions flooded the room, a welcome intrusion. He reached for a skewer, then noticed a small, folded note tucked beneath the edge of the plate.

“Yoongi hyung,

As a fellow enthusiast of grilled meats, I figured you could use the company of lamb more than you need company of people right now.

Good luck with the new song!

From your partner in lamb skewer restaurant business.”

Yoongi stared at the note, then back at the skewers. A slow smile crept across his face. Jungkook, he thought, was the best member in the world. Right now, he was exactly what Yoongi needed.
