My name is F/N L/N, I'm just an everyday ordinary 18-year-old otaku. I currently live alone because my parents never seem to have come back from the last time they have left me alone to watch the house for them. I began to worry that they'd either gotten kidnapped or probably got killed by anyone with a heartless mind. It was no use to find out if they've ended up anywhere, but I didn't want to stop until I got my answers.
At this very moment, I was in need of some food, so I headed off to a convenience store called "Delicious", so I was hoping I can still keep myself up and energized while I'm on my self-given task of finding my parents. The second I entered the double doors, I heard the sound of an angry man yelling at two terrified girls who were screaming for their lives. Even the other customers who witnessed the situation were scared themselves. The angered man everyone saw was intending to injure two innocent girls wearing kimonos as they held each other close in fear.
ANGRY MAN: "Prepare to die, you worthless brats!"
I gasped and made the attempt to block the man's attack, but to no avail, my protection ended up as a sacrifice. The man who swung his knife at the two girls, but I shielded the girls from the attack by being stabbed...right at my heart. The heavy punishment was enough to make me faint in front of the two girls I have defended. Everyone was scared just enough to flee for their lives from the store.
INNOCENT GIRLS: "Oh no! Are you alright?!"
However, due to my inability to do anything more, the angry man still made his attempt to mercilessly murder the two kimono girls, so they fled for their lives as well. I tried to keep my consciousness up a little longer as I watched the two screaming kimono girls being chased by their killer as they left through the exit.
ANGRY MAN: "Little bitches!"
Next to the sound of the girls crying for help, I heard another person's voice. I crawled to see that it was a black-haired boy, who appeared to be about the same age as myself, standing in front of the girls.
BOY: "Run! Now!"
After he said that, he turned his head back and stopped running to see the man beginning to run at the two girls.
ANGRY MAN: "Gotcha now! I'll kill the both of you!"
The girls screamed once more.
BOY: "Time to show some spine!"
Before the man could attack the girls with his knife again, the teenage boy ran up and tackled him down to the ground.
BOY: "Go on! Run while I keep him--"
I saw that the boy had been stabbed himself, because I could see that his blood was dripping from his body. As the man saw this, he dropped his knife and made a break for it away from the convenience store. After that, the girls ran up to the boy crying for him.
F/N: "That kid... He did the same thing I did...to protect those poor girls." My heart slowly began to stop. "I'm sorry Mom, sorry Dad. I have failed to find you."
My vision slowly began to fade away as my heart began to stop. Then I met my demise.
Suddenly, I wake up to see an unfamiliar ceiling. Then I sat up and looked around to also see that I was in a room that I was also not familiar with either.
Y/N: "Where am I? How did I get here? Is this the hospital?"
I then saw a little boy next to me with silver hair with blue mesh who was looking around the room himself. In unison, we both saw a young woman with her brown hair tied in a ponytail and dressed up in a maid uniform cleaning a vase full of flowers.
LITTLE BOY: "Huh?"
When the maid heard the voice of the boy next to me, she saw that we were both awake. She made a fae at the both of us, looking like she was going to cry.
MAID: "Master Y/N! Master Cain!"
The maid hugged us both close.
Y/N: "Y/N?"
CAIN: "Cain?"
The both of us were very confused by the names she called us. Then suddenly, a woman with long silver hair and a fancy purple dress came close and hugged both of us as well.
WOMAN: "Y/N, Cain! You recognize your mother?"
CAIN: "I think you got the wong..."
MAID: *sobbing* "Masters Y/N and Cain!"
Both the boy and I saw a reflection through ourselves to see him and another boy who had blue hair with silver mesh.
CAIN: Who...is that? *pointing at his own reflection*
MAID & WOMAN: "Uh...?"
Cain suddenly flipped out and screamed.
Y/N: "What is this kid freaking out for?"
The maid and the silver-haired woman stopped him by hugging Cain closely once more.
MAID & WOMAN: "Are you alright?"
CAIN: "ABSOLUTELY NOT! WHO IS THAT?! WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!"
I was shocked by Cain's sudden and foul language in front of two grownups.
A couple minutes later, Cain had calmed down a little more slightly. It looked like he was examining his own appearance by opening and closing his hands repeatedly.
CAIN: "Closed, open, closed, open..."
Y/N: "What is he doing?"
WOMAN: "Are you alright, Cain? Do you remember who you are?"
MAID: "Don't worry. He's probably just confused, madam. He and his brother have been asleep for a week after all."
WOMAN: "Yes, that's a good point."
Y/N & CAIN: "Brother? But I don't have a..."
Y/N: "Wait a minute. Did I suddenly get... REINCARNATED? Is that why I look like a toddler with blue hair?"
WOMAN: *feels both my and Cain's foreheads* "Hmm... Your fevers have definitely gone down, but you should rest a bit more. Oh, that's right, you two must be starving. A little bit of soup and you boys will be as good as new. Silvia?"
SILVIA: Of course. I'll bring some right away.
We watched as the maid named "Silvia" and the silver-haired woman who now happens to be my new mother both left the room.
MOTHER: *smiles* "Now you just rest until it gets here, okay?"
SILVIA: *smiles* "Excuse me.*
After the door closes...
CAIN: "Who...were those two? Silvia...Y/N...and my mother?" *turns to the mirror* "Why do I look like that?"
Y/N: "Umm... You alright, Cain?"
CAIN: "Wait, is this some wight novel weincarnation thing? So that means..."
I gasped, surprised that he knew what reincarnation was. It also made me wonder if he was an otaku like myself the second he mentioned light novels.
CAIN: "So that means... I didn't survive the injury did I? But, I did save those girls at least."
Y/N: "No way, was he that black-haired kid who sacrificed his own life to protect those two girls he mentioned at the convenience store? And now he and I are...brothers? I guess I could talk to him about it later."
CAIN: "Well, what's done is done. If I been reincarnated, I need to know what I'm dealing with here. I'm not gonna let any weird inward shenanigans get the best of me."
I confusingly watched Cain as he ran around observing our new bedroom. After a few minutes, he examined his new body by lifting up his pants for some weird reason.
Y/N: "Uhhh..."
The very second he did that, our maid Silvia opened our bedroom door with a plate topped with two bowls of our soup.
SILVIA: "Masters Y/N and Cain, your soups are... *gasps and quickly puts the bowls down on a shelf next to her before running up to Cain* Master Cain, did you wet the bed?" *picks up Cain to stand him on his feet* "In that case, up and..." *pulls down his trousers* "...down."
Cain flips out and screams once again.
SILVIA: I know, it's okay. Nobody's angry.
Seeing this happening, I began to laugh at Cain being traumatized just by getting cleaned up and changed by Silvia.
Several minutes later, Cain had calmed down again and Silvia was feeding us our bowls of soup.
SILVIA: Yummy, isn't it?
Y/N: *smiles* Very delicious, Silvia.
CAIN: *smiles* "Yup."
SILVIA: Your senses of taste are coming back, you two.
Y/N: "Wow, she's right. I never realized that I couldn't taste anything yet. But still, this soup has some delicious meat and vegetables in there."
CAIN: "It's so good."
Our bowls were finally empty and Silvia stood up from our bed.
SYLVIA: Wonderful. I'm glad to see your eating so well, Young Masters. Alright then.
I see Sylvia pick up Cain and put him over her shoulder before patting his back. To my assumption, she was burping him.
CAIN: "Hey, what's that for?"
SILVIA: "I know, I know. But we gotta burp you before bed."
CAIN: "You're twying to burp me? Just how old am I?"
SILVIA: "There, it's okay!" *continues patting Cain's back*
CAIN: I'm alwight, I swear!
I laugh at Cain, again, feeling traumatized at being treated like the child he is now.
CAIN: "Stop waughing! It's not funny!"
Until it was my turn to get burped, I just went with the flow as I am a reincarnated child. Due to my and my brother's appearances, we're probably about 3 years old.
Finally after a few days from our reincarnation, Cain and I were finally able to be filled in about our new family. So for starters, my new name is "Y/N von Silford" and it turned out that I am 3 years old.
My new father is "Garm" and my new mother is "Sarah". My new brother "Cain" is also 3 years old, but slightly younger than me but still born on the same day, so that would make us twins. We also have a sister named Reine who's two years older than us.
Sarah is Garm's second wife. The name of his first wife is Maria. We also have Jin and Alex who are our elder brothers and also the two sons Maria had with Garm. So that would make us Gaum's third and fourth youngest sons. Our father is a high-ranking noble, a margrave with his very own army. His responsibility is to protect the realms borders against the foreign invaders.
After dinner, Silvia was showing us a book about the outside world.
SILVIA: And to the south of Gracia, the part of the kingdom of Esfort that Lord Garm oversees is the forest of monsters.
CAIN: "Weally? There are monsters?"
Cain looked and sounded way too enthused.
SILVIA: "Yes, but you don't have to worry. The adventurers..."
CAIN: "Oh wow! Adventurers too?!"
Y/N: "Wow, adventurers? Count me in!"
CAIN: "Do they fight with swords...and magic?!"
SILVIA: "Of course. Some of them specialize in magic."
CAIN: "No way! That's so cool! Oh man, I wanna twy using magic too!"
Y/N: "Me too, me too!"
SYLVIA: "That may take a little while, so try learning how to write first, okay?"
Y/N & CAIN: "Okay!" / "K!"
Both Cain and I took hours of our time trying to read the new letters of this world until we were able to understand this world's mysterious language. When we were finally ready, Silvia then gave us our own two books to read more about our new home, the Kingdom of Esfort, as well as our study on magic spells. Doing this made me make up my mind to live in this new world. But I still wondered about Cain's previous life before he got reincarnated.

One day in the dining room...
GARM: What? Y/N and Cain are able to write?
REINE: "Yeah and that's not all!" *hugs Cain* "They can already do math and other stuff too!"
GARM: "That's fantastic."
Hearing pride from my father's voice made me smile. But Cain grew a worried look on his face. I assume that he didn't want them to know that he was a high schooler before being reborn here. As a matter of fact, I should probably follow suit with his actions.
SARAH: "Perhaps our little boys are secretly geniuses, darling."
Y/N: "Aww, thanks, Mommy!"
CAIN: "No, really! It's just that Silvia is so good at teaching."
SILVIA: *cries tears of joy* "M-M-M-Master Cain!"
I smiled at Silvia getting moved by Cain's compliment.
GARM: "But why the sudden interest in studying?"
SARAH: "You two have seemed a little different since the fever."
GARM: "A divine revelation, perhaps?"
Cain grew worried even more, then Silvia noticed.
SILVIA: *gasp* "Is everything alright? Do you want some baby food? Some of Mother's milk, maybe?" *she shoves a baby bottle into Cain's mouth*
Y/N: Uhhh... *lightly snickers*
Cain pulls the baby bottle out of his mouth, annoyed.
CAIN: "I'm not hungwy! I wanna wead as much as possible so I can make my way in the world, that's all!"
Y/N: "Jeez, Cain. Calm down and lower your volume. Although, I'm on the same path as you."
GARM: Respectable, and wise too. I have four sons and only one estate. So you will have to make your own path in life.
Y/N: Then if you allow it, I'd like to read books on magic and the kingdom's history too."
CAIN: "Same here, Father. Maybe Y/N and I will achieve our goal if we study together as well."
GARM: "Go right ahead."
SARAH: "Really? You're interested in magic, boys?"
REINE: "Huh? I don't think you're quite ready to use it yet. You have to be baptized first, like me."
Y/N: "Baptized, you say?"
GARM: "That's right. You'll need to wait until you boys turn 5. But you can begin by learning the basics.
SARAH: *smiles* "And remember magic takes time."
CAIN: "I guess that's true..."
Several minutes after breakfast, Cain and I started our reading and in an instant learned our first spell. Cain decided to be the first to practice using the spell before I do.
Y/N: "Alright, brother. If you fail our first magic test, you have to drink baby milk for a whole week. No turning back."
CAIN: "You're the worst sometimes."
Y/N: "Now let's see you fail that spell."
Cain glares at my brotherly mockery toward him before he casts a spell in his hand and, to my surprise, some fire rises from it.
CAIN: *enthused* "Nope, I got it!"
Y/N: "Dang it!" *sighs in defeat*
Suddenly, Silvia surprises us by opening our bedroom door.
SILVIA: "Something wrong?"
Cain quickly placed his hands behind his back.
Y/N: "No, no, Silvia. We're just reading."
SILVIA: "Hmm... Okay." *closes the door*
CAIN: "Oh wow! That was magic, wasn't it? How come I can use it? Doesn't matter. It's a wight novel fan's dream come true!"
Y/N: "Wow, he really must've been an otaku back in our past lives." "Alright, Cain. It's my turn to cast that spell."
CAIN: "I'd wike to see you fail this. Because you're gonna dwink baby milk for sure."
Y/N: "We'll see about that!"
I began to cast the spell and summoned an even bigger fire from my hands.
CAIN: "Hey, no fair! Kay, let's try this again, with a little bit–"
Cain began screaming as a huge line of fire was casted and hit the ceiling. He quickly changed his hands' positions to aim out the window which was fortunately opened.
Y/N: "Yikes, Cain! Watch where you're aiming! You almost burnt the house down!"
Sylvia comes in again but this time with Reine.
REINE: "Something wrong this time?"
After seeing Sylvia but not Reine, Cain quickly discontinued the fire spell.
CAIN: "No, everything's just fine."
SILVIA: "Oooh, okay!"
REINE: *gasps* "I was just studying this myself.
Y/N: "Oh, hey, sis. What brings you here?"
CAIN: *screams at Reine's presence* Reine, when did you even get in here?!"
REINE: *singsongs* "I know!" *creepily smiles at Cain* "Don't deny it."
CAIN: *scared* "Deny what?"
REINE: "You're secretly trying to learn about the outside world, right? Well, Sister can teach you a thing or two."
Reine's sinister expression toward Caine didn't scare me, it just made me laugh.
Y/N: *laughs* "She definitely had you going there for a second, Cain."
REINE: "How about I bring in a chalkboard and a couple desks so I can be your little history teacher."
Y/N: "Hope you don't mind if I help with that, Sis."
REINE: "Sure, thank you, Y/N."
Y/N and Reine left the bedroom, leaving Cain alone and traumatized once again.
CAIN: "Reine is scary sometimes."
After that, our sister Reine stopped by our bedroom everyday to teach us about the kingdom of Esfort. We both learned about its 300-year-long history. There was also the first king who started out as an adventurer who he went on to found a kingdom. And his name was...
REINE: "Yuuya!"
She taught us that and all sorts of other things. Her teaching skills were off the charts. Reine also taught us about the races like elves, dwarves, and even beastfolk all living together in this new world I live in with Cain. I was excited to leave the house and get out into the world. As for Cain, he was far more enthused that he drew a picture of our entire mansion. No surprise, Reine was surprised at his art skill.

2 years later, Cain and I have both reached age 5.
CAIN: "Finally! Today is the big day! We're gonna get baptized, Y/N!"
Y/N: "I know! Now let's go, we don't wanna keep Mom and Dad waiting any longer, right?"
We left our room all nicely dressed up for today's occasion after a little grooming from Silvia.
GARM: "What could be taking so long, they're going to be late."
Y/N: "We're here!"
CAIN: "Apologies for the wait."
In an instant, Reine was blown away by our new looks from the clothing we were wearing.
REINE: "Oooh, Cain and Y/N look so cute!"
SARAH: *smiles deeply* "Handsome is the word I would use. They're definitely my sons."
CAIN: "Have we changed that much?"
SILVIA: "Well yeah, you boys are 5 now."
SARAH: "You're such big boys these days."
Reine, now 7 years old, runs up to Cain and hugs him.
REINE: *laughs joyfully* "You better not get too big though."
Y/N: "Aww, Reine! How 'bout a hug for me too?"
REINE: "Oh of course, come here, Y/N!" *shares a hug with Y/N*
Y/N: "Mother, Father, thank you for everything! Brother and I are ready to be baptized."
SILVIA: *smiles with tears "You've been looking forward to this day for so long."
GARM: "Alright, first a baptism then a debut. Let's get to it, shall we?"
Y/N & CAIN: "Right!"
Finally, Cain and the rest of my family were on board a carriage that was taking us straight to our first destination, the Marineford Pantheon. While we were on our way, both Cain and I were astonished by the sights of our new world we live in. It was just like the world I have read and dreamt about in my past life.
CAIN: "By the way, Reine. Tell me, what's it actually like to be bestowed with status magic?"
REINE: *giggles* "I can show you. Look. Status Open !"
Cain and I were amazed at how her magic status looks.
Y/N: "So this is how our statuses will look? That's so cool!"
Then to our surprise, mostly leaving Cain a little uncomfortable, we read one particular part in her status.
CAIN: "Uhhh... What does 'adorer of Cain' mean?"
REINE: *laughs nervously* "Nothing!" *glares at Cain* "Did you see it?"
I giggled under my breath.
Y/N: "I feel like she has some weird brother complex for him."
CAIN: "AHH! No, no, no, no, no! I was just so surprised that you could use three different elements of magic, is all."
SARAH: "Reine here was granted Level 2 Protection by the God of Magic."
CAIN: "Protection?"
Y/N: "Level?"
GARM: " Yes, magic and protection are attainable in Levels 1 through 5. The higher the Level, the higher the user's natural aptitude is."
SARAH: "Protection is a useful thing that determines how much magic is needed to activate a spell and it affects skills as well."
Y/N: "Wow! Where's protection come from?"
GARM: "A God gives it to you."
CAIN: "A God"?
GARM: "That's right. Here in this kingdom, we practice the Marineford faith. That is, we give worship and offer praise to seven Pillar Gods. The point of this ceremony is to inform those Gods that you've reached five years of age."
We finally reached our stop and entered a room where a pope waited before the seven giant statues of the Pillar Gods. We all kneeled down and prayed in front of the statues.
CAIN: "Interesting. So that's what our baptisms are for."
REINE: "I hope you and Y/N get lots of protection from magic from the Gods too, Cain."
The pope stood forward.
POPE: "My Lord, we will now commence the ceremony of baptism.*positions his hand before Cain and I* Y/N von Silford and Cain von Silford, the seven Pillar Gods of the Marine Ford Faith welcome you, on this your blessed fifth birthdays. Will you choose to embrace them?"
Y/N & CAIN: "I will."
POPE: *turns around and raises his arms* "Gods who created this world and watch over us, I inform you these children, Y/N von Silford and Cain von Silford, have reached the age of 5! By your grace, I beseech you to show him the path used to walk!"
After a few seconds, both Cain and I began to hear the laughter of an old man. Then the statues began to emit a flash of light, surprising all of us.
POPE: "What is this radiant light?"
The next thing I saw is that Cain and I entered some sort of bright white void. There was also seven people sitting at a large golden table who looked very similar to the statues of the seven Pillar Gods.
CAIN: "Wha...?"
Y/N: "Where are we?"
GOD: "The world of the Gods, where we the seven Gods reside. It is good to see you, Y/N and Caine. No, F/N L/N and Kazuya Shiina."
I was absolutely speechless to actually become present to actual Gods. It also amazed me that it was part of my and Cain's baptism.
CAIN: *screams* "An in-person meeting with the Gods is part of our baptisms?! Why didn't anybody let us know?!"
The God in the center seat laughed once more.
