~Jungkook’s Perspective~
“Hobi, eat your carrots instead of playing with them!” Jimin chuckled. I smiled as Hoseok playfully mimed the carrots as vampire fangs.
“You’re no fun, Chim,” Hoseok sighed, finally biting into the orange vegetable.
The three of us—Hoseok, Jimin, and myself—were having lunch together. It was Saturday, and we’d decided on a lunch date. We all worked together as dance instructors, but our schedules rarely allowed for conversation beyond quick greetings.
“So, how are things with Yoongi?” Hoseok asked as we ate. Jimin’s smile widened.
“They’re good. He took me on a really nice date the other day.” We both smiled. It was good to see Jimin happy.
“That’s great,” I said, nodding along.
“When are you two going to find someone?” Jimin asked, glancing at me. I shrugged.
“I don’
t know. When I find the right person, I guess.” I replied. Hoseok nodded in agreement.
“Same. I haven’t met anyone I’ve truly connected with yet.” He admitted. Jimin nodded sympathetically.
“I’m sure you both will soon. Oh, look at the time. I told Yoongi I’d be home by now.” Jimin sighed, rising from his seat. “It was nice hanging out. See you at work.” He smiled, waving goodbye. Hoseok and I finished eating, paid the bill, and left the restaurant together.
“So, where are you heading?” Hoseok asked as we stepped onto the sidewalk.
“I don’t know…probably to get some ice cream,” I replied. He nodded.
“I’m going home. I live close by, so I was going to walk with you.” He offered. I smiled gratefully.
“Thanks, but I think I’ll get ice cream. I’ll see you at work, Hyung.” I said. He nodded and continued towards the apartments, while I walked towards town and the ice cream store.
The weather was beautiful. The storm from the previous night had cleared, and everything was vibrant green and bright. The sky was cloudless, and a gentle breeze was blowing.
I entered the ice cream store and smiled at the girl behind the counter.
“What can I get you?” she asked.
“Strawberry and vanilla, two scoops in a cone, please.” I said. She nodded and quickly prepared my order as I pulled out my wallet.
I paid and left the store, happily savoring my ice cream as I walked down the sidewalk.
By the time I reached the crosswalk, my ice cream was gone. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and checked the time—3:30 PM.
I looked up from my phone and slipped it back into my pocket. As I glanced at the road, I saw a car heading directly towards me. My eyes widened in alarm. Before I could react, I felt a strong push, and everything went black. All sensation faded, and darkness consumed me.
