“Wake up!” Dick yelled through the bedroom door.

“Fuck off!” I shouted back, burying my head under the pillow.

“Ms Y/N!” Alfred’s voice, calm and disapproving, cut through the noise.

“Didn’t know you were there, Alfie, sorry,” I mumbled, finally lifting my head. I stood up and headed to the ensuite bathroom for a quick, cold shower to shake off the last vestiges of sleep.

“Y/N, Dick said if you’re not out of that bed in the next ten minutes, he’ll drag you out by your feet,” Tim called through the door.

“Tell him to feel free. If he wants to see me naked,” I retorted, imagining Tim’s blush.

I quickly dressed, brushing my hair—leaving it to air dry—and walked out my door. I found Damian shouting at Tim. I jogged down the stairs and joined them, drawn by the commotion.

“I *know* you drank out of my favourite mug!” Tim accused.

“I didn’t drink out of your favourite mug, so don’t go pointing fingers at me, Drake,” Damian snapped back.

Alfred held the first aid kit, and everyone was circled around them. The argument continued, escalating until Damian lunged at Tim.

Tim narrowly dodged and sprinted towards me, launching himself onto my shoulders, landing behind me.

“Protect me, meat shield,” he whispered in my ear.

“Was that a fat joke?” I asked, raising an eyebrow.

“You can hide behind her, Drake,” Damian taunted.

I swiftly grabbed Tim’s wrist and, with a flick of my wrist, pulled him over my head. He sailed through the air and landed in front of me, gasping for breath.

“I wasn’t making a fat joke,” he said, winded.

“Have at him, Damian,” I told Damian, smiling innocently at Tim.

I started to walk away, the sound of fighting and yelling echoing behind me—Jason laughing, Alfred and Bruce shouting at the boys. I let out a small laugh.

“Love you really, Tim. Love you really,” I murmured quietly, a smile playing on my lips.

“And then she started slagging me off, she just had to be dealt with, so I—” I tuned out my friend, F/N, mid-sentence.

I glanced over at Tim and his friends. They all burst out laughing while Kyle started to walk away, looking annoyed, eyebrows furrowed and eyes blazing. Tim looked at F/N and me, and smiled softly.

I looked at F/N, who was staring at me with a shocked expression.

“OMG, no you do not,” she said, incredulous.

“What?” I asked.

“You like him,” she accused.

“As a friend, yes. Not like that, though,” I clarified.

“You do! You’re meant to get with Kyle. I was meant to set you both up.” She insisted.

“What? I don’t like Kyle. I don’t even *know* him.” I told her.

“So? You needed to get with him. Oh, the drama it would cause.” She waved her sandwich around dramatically.

“I don’t want drama. I don’t like Tim, nor do I like Kyle, so fuck off,” I said, my tone sharp.

“What did you just say?” She asked, disbelief etched on her face.

“Do I need to say it slower? Or will you not understand it at all with that simple brain of yours?” I snapped, dripping with sass.

“How dare you speak to me like that.” She said, standing up and brandishing her fork.

I stood up as well. We stared each other down before F/N lunged over the table at me. I sidestepped her pathetic attempt to stab me with a fork. She swung again, and I grabbed her arm, yanking her into the table behind her. She landed face-first into a plate of spaghetti someone was eating.

I walked out of the room and down the school hallway, leaving F/N to cry over her ruined makeup. Why does she need makeup to look pretty? I don’t.

I walked out of the main entrance of the school building, walking down the street for about five minutes before I heard a voice call my name, “Y/N!”

I turned around and saw Tim running at me. He didn’t slow down as he neared me. Soon enough, we were both on the floor, laughing.

I pushed him off me and stood up.

“What do you want, Timmy?” I asked, offering him my hand.

He gratefully took it, and I pulled him up onto his feet. I pulled too hard, and we both ended up with our chests pressed together. Tim leaned in and kissed me. I pulled away and slapped him on the back of the head.

“Y/N, I am so sorry. It felt like the perfect moment to kiss you,” he rambled on.

“Ask for my permission next time,” I told him.

“So, you didn’t mind?” He asked, shocked.

“Nope. Just ask next time.”

“Can I kiss you?” He asked.

“If you really must,” I answered.

He gently pressed his lips against mine, and we kissed before a car horn beeped.

We both turned and saw Alfred with the driver’s seat window down. He had a stern look on his face.

“Bruce is going to kill us. Want to run? See how long we last before we die?” I asked Tim.

Tim looked at me before pecking my lips and running off.

“I said ask, asshole!” I shouted, running after him.

Alfred beeped the horn at us and started to drive after us.
