Taehyung (V)

“Hey, Taehyung!” I called out to the brunette-haired boy standing awkwardly at the side of the road, more interested in the blur of passing cars than anything else.

The quick turn of his head signaled he *was* looking for me. “Hi (Y/N)!” He smiled, “I’m glad you could make it.”

I nodded. “Me too. It’s been a while since the two of us have had a date, with you on tour and all. How have you been?”

“Okay, I guess,” he shrugged, sticking his hands in his pockets and shifting his weight.

“Why just ‘okay’?” I asked, grinning at the way his face was already starting to flush.

“Because I missed you,” he mumbled, his head bowed in embarrassment. I let out a giggle.

“Aww,” I cooed, lifting his head to meet my own before pressing a soft kiss to his lips. “I missed you too.”

Taehyung smiled, then laced his fingers through mine and walked beside me down the street. “Guess where we’re going,” he winked, biting his lower lip.

“Um, well considering it’s spring, I’m guessing somewhere outside?” I asked, quickening my pace to match his.

“Mmm,” he humed. “But you have to guess *where* outside.”

“I don’t like guessing,” I whined, squeezing his hand.

“You’re too cute sometimes,” he chuckled.

“Not all the time?” I questioned, looking up at him and cocking an eyebrow.

Tae smiled softly. “You know what I mean.” His dark hair flowed behind him in the breeze, revealing the forehead and eyebrows I’d missed so much.

“Are you going to tell me or not?” I asked, resting my head on his upper arm, his shoulder a couple of inches too high to comfortably lean on.

“You need to guess,” he repeated, rolling his eyes and laughing at my confused expression.

“But I’m not good at guessing—oh! Never mind,” I giggled, pulling my head back and running forward, Tae running behind me, our fingers still intertwined.

“You got it now?” He asked after a few minutes of running, his face flushed from the sudden exercise.

“I should have known today was the carnival,” I laughed, as he led me toward the entrance.

Taehyung beamed. “What do you wanna do first?”

I was cut off by a scream a few meters away. Turning our heads, we found a blonde-haired girl with wide eyes and a trembling mouth.

“Y- You’re V from BTS,” she stuttered, walking closer and pulling her phone from her pocket.

“Hi!” He smiled, giving the girl a quick hug.

“I- I’m a really big fan. C- can I have a picture with you?” She asked awkwardly, holding her phone out.

“Sure!” Tae smiled and nodded, taking the girl’s phone and pulling her closer.

“Wait,” she said before he could take the picture. “I want (Y/N) to be in it too.”

My eyes widened in surprise. “Are you sure?”

She nodded. “Yes, please! If that’s alright with you?”

“Of course,” I grinned, stepping into the frame and putting my arm around Tae and the girl. After the picture was taken, the girl took her phone back and smiled.

“Thank you so much!” She exclaimed before frantically running off to find her mother.

“She was cute,” I chuckled, as we walked side by side down the street, passing vendors and games.

“Not as cute as you though,” Tae said, smiling down at me and kissing my forehead.

“That was cheesy,” I laughed, jokingly rolling my eyes.

“At least it wasn’t one of Jin’s dad jokes,” he stated, still smiling.

“That’s very true. Hey, you know what we should do?” I asked, starting to get excited.

“What?” He asked, mirroring my excitement.

“Let’s go play a game,” I said, laughing as his eyes widened.

“Then I can win you a prize!” Taehyung gasped, smiling widely at my laughing, flustered face.

“You can try. I’ll probably be the one winning *you* a prize,” I stated, crossing my arms as he rested an arm on my shoulder.

“Hey! I can win. I mean, I did win your heart, didn’t I?” He smirked.

“Stop with the dad jokes!” I laughed, pushing him away. “Or you’ll start becoming Jin, and I didn’t fall in love with Jin—I fell in love with *you*,” I explained, cupping his face in my hands before gently slapping his cheeks.

“Who’s the cheesy one now?” He laughed at my actions, removing my hands from his face before pulling me into a playful hug.

I rolled my eyes but smiled. “Let’s go find a game. There were a few we passed earlier, but they didn’t look very fun.”

“Alright then, let’s go find you a game to play and I’ll show you what a real winner looks like!” He beamed, fist pumping the air above him.

“Okay…” I trailed off, silently praying he actually won and didn’t embarrass himself.

“How about this game?” He asked, pulling me over to a counter and handing the man behind it 5000 Won.

“Okay, so in this game you need to try and pop the balloons with these three darts. If you pop three, you get a prize,” the man explained, handing Tae the darts.

“Watch me win this,” he winked at me before closing his eyes and throwing one of the darts. A satisfying *pop* echoed through the air, and Tae and I highfived.

“You didn’t need to close your eyes,” I chuckled.

“I know, but if I win and my eyes are closed, then you owe me a prize,” he said, closing his eyes again and throwing another dart. Another pop, and Tae picked up the last dart. “Is that a deal?”

“Sure,” I shrugged. “But what kind of prize did you have in mind?” I asked, hugging him from behind and lightly tickling his sides to try to throw off his aim as he threw the last dart with his eyes shut. The third and final *pop* rang through the air, and Tae was handed a giant blue stuffed owl with big, beady black eyes.

Handing the animal to me, he whispered, “I want a kiss. You little cheater.”

“Hmm,” I hummed. “I think I can make that work.”

Taehyung smiled widely. “Great! I’ll be looking forward to that!”

Laughing, I tucked the owl under one of my arms and we continued on, hunting for more games.

—Time Skip—

Opening the door to my apartment, Taehyung helped me carry the prizes we’d won earlier. “What are we gonna do with these?” I asked once we were both inside.

“You don’t want them all?” He asked, sticking out his lower lip in a pout and crossing his arms over his chest.

I shook my head. “Where would I keep them?”

“On your bed,” he replied, shrugging.

“Tae, we have like, eight giant stuffed animals. They won’t all fit on my bed.”

“I’ve got an idea,” he said. “I’ll keep one, you keep one, and the rest we can give to the other boys.”

“Okay, but I want the owl,” I told him, running a hand through my hair.

“Why the owl?” He questioned, taking a step closer.

“Because it was the first one you won,” I smiled gently.

“And guess what?” He asked, backing me into a corner.

“What?” I raised an eyebrow, confused.

“Because I won that game with my eyes closed, do you know what you owe me?” He asked.

Blushing, I looked down at my feet. The conversation from earlier ringing in my ears. “A kiss,” I answered softly.

“Yep,” he said, lifting my chin so our eyes met. “But first tell me something. What’s the difference between a peck and a kiss?”

I rolled my eyes and attempted to answer, but Taehyung’s lips met mine before I could. Easing into the kiss, I smiled and noticed he lightly bit my lower lip, as if asking permission to deepen it. I allowed him, feeling his tongue meet mine as I focused on the sweet taste of his lips. The sugary lollipop he’d eaten earlier at the carnival suggested he’d anticipated this kiss and been ready for it all along. Taehyung pulled my body closer to his and interlaced his fingers with mine. Pulling away first, I took a deep breath and sighed. “Thank you for today,” I smiled, pulling him into a hug.

“It was my pleasure, (Y/N),” he replied, kissing me on the cheek and then unhooking our fingers before walking toward the door. “I’ll see you soon,” Tae smiled before opening the door and scooping up seven stuffed animals, leaving the owl by the door. “Wish me luck on trying to get these guys home,” he laughed.

“Bye, Tae. Good luck!” I grinned, watching him leave and barely able to shut the door behind him.
