"Good morning, (y/n)-san!"
A cheerful voice cut through the quiet dawn, accompanied by a bright smile.
She turned her head, her gaze drawn to the source of the sound she so enjoyed. "Good morning to you as well, Tanjiro-kun."
She replied with a gentle voice and a soft smile—a combination he found himself utterly captivated by, every time their eyes met.
"Do you feel better now?" she asked, her voice laced with concern.
"I hope you aren't in any pain..."
Tanjiro’s smile widened, radiating warmth. "I feel much better, actually!"
Her relief was palpable. She sighed and smiled warmly. "I see."
Tanjiro often found himself mesmerized by her gentle smile. He knew any man would fall for it—fall for *her*.
*(y/n)-san is making me crazy,* he thought, a dangerous tide of feeling rising within him. The mere thought of her with another man, a wave of possessiveness threatened to overwhelm him.
*Alright,* he decided, steeling his resolve. He gave a determined look, prompting her to tilt her head in confusion.
"Is something wrong, Tanjiro-kun?" she asked, her voice as sweet as honey.
Tanjiro hadn’t realized a single voice could affect him so profoundly. He craved every syllable, every inflection. It felt like an angel's whisper, guiding him to paradise.
"(y/n)-san!" he blurted out, making her flinch.
"Y-Yes?"
"Would you mind joining me outside tonight?" he asked, his voice carefully polite. He gazed directly into her (e/c) eyes, hoping to convey the urgency of his request. "I want to speak with you privately."
"Of course," she replied softly, her eyes crinkling at the corners in a smile that felt like an arrow to his heart.
"Is there something important you want to tell me?" she asked, her curiosity piqued.
"Y-Yes!" he stuttered, unable to maintain his composure.
"I see." She nodded, her smile still gentle and warm. "It must be very important, if you wish to speak about it privately."
Tanjiro’s smile widened, a flush creeping onto his cheeks. "Then, I’ll see you tonight, (y/n)-san!" He turned abruptly, almost dashing off, unable to contain the joy bubbling within him.
"(Wrong name)!"
Tanjiro paused, turning back to see her.
"Is there something to eat?"
A gruff voice boomed, belonging to a man hidden behind a boar mask. He held his hands up in the air, demanding attention. She softly laughed at his childishness.
"Good morning to you as well," she said sweetly, her smile radiant. "Inosuke-kun."
The boar-masked man nodded, flowers floating around him.
"Food!" he roared, ignoring Tanjiro’s scolding.
"Alright. I’ll bring you some, so please wait a moment." She giggled and turned to retrieve his meal.
"Tanjiro is so cute when he smiles like that~" she murmured, a shower of pink flowers blooming around her. "I wonder what it is he wants to tell me."
She walked towards the kitchen, carrying a tray laden with rice balls and three cups of steaming green tea. She knew Inosuke’s appetite was insatiable.
"I hope it’s nothing too serious…"
She found Shinobu smiling serenely.
"Good morning, Lady Kocho." She bowed politely, offering the tray.
"Good morning, (y/n)-san," Shinobu replied, her gaze lingering on the food. "How are those three doing?"
"(y/n) raised her head, then smiled brightly at her. "All of them are doing great, Lady Kocho!"
"That's good to hear."
"Yes!"
"And how are things with you and Kamado-kun?"
(y/n)'s smile widened, bright enough to momentarily blind Shinobu.
"I see that you two are getting along well."
"I’ll get going now, Lady Kocho." She bowed her head, smiling. "Inosuke would throw a tantrum if I don’t give him his breakfast."
Shinobu nodded, smiling as well. "Alright."
(y/n) walked outside, finding Inosuke calling out to Tanjiro by the wrong name.
"Gonpachiro!"
"It’s Tanjiro, you stupid boar!"
"What did you say?!"
Zenitsu was just standing there, panicking, shaking and crying.
"You two sure get along well."
Their heads turned toward the voice.
"(y/n)-chaaaannn~!"
Zenitsu sniffled, running towards her and hugging her waist, just like a little kid.
"You did a good job then, Zenitsu-kun!"
She praised, smiling at him while patting his head.
Tanjiro glared at Zenitsu for hugging his angel, but stifled his anger.
"You're finally here with my food!"
Inosuke shouted, running towards her.
"Hey!!"
Tanjiro shouted at him, while Inosuke started eating his rice balls, ignoring Tanjiro’s scolding.
"Shut up, Tontarou!"
"Who the hell is that?!"
"That’d be you!"
"I don't know someone with that name!!"
(y/n) laughed, making the two of them stop.
"I-I'm sorry...Please...Do go on.."
She said trying her best not to laugh anymore. Zenitsu watches them, completely in a daze.
'I wanna see Nezuko-chan.."
• • • • • • • • • • • • "The moon is beautiful tonight."
She softly said, smiling.
"(y/n)-san!"
Tanjiro hurried towards her, breathless.
"I'm sorry for being late…" he apologized, embarrassed.
"It’s alright. I just arrived myself."
Tanjiro stared at her, bathed in the silver moonlight. She seemed to glow, radiating an ethereal beauty.
"What is it you wanted to tell me, Tanjiro-kun?" she asked softly, her smile inviting.
"I’m all ears!"
Tanjiro’s face flushed, his heart pounding against his ribs. He had to muster all his courage.
"I, Kamado Tanjiro, love you, (l/n) (y/n)."
(y/n)’s eyes widened, tears spilling down her cheeks.
"(y/n)-san…?"
She fell to her knees, covering her face with her hands, overwhelmed by emotion.
"I-I also…"
Tanjiro tilted his head, confused.
"I’m sorry, but I didn’t hear the last part, (y/n)-san."
He knelt beside her, leaning closer.
"Would you mind saying it again?"
To his surprise, (y/n) pulled him into a tight embrace, sobbing.
"I, of course, love you as well, Tanjiro-kun!"
His eyes widened, and tears streamed down his face. He placed his hand on the back of her head and tightened his hug.
"I’m so glad…"
