Jihoon quickly let go of the cigarettes and stepped on it " Y-yeah? "
" It's time. Do your job as the hotel president "
" Oh come on, ma. You said you wanna do it by yourself? " Jihoon whined, which made her cross her arms
" Isn't it weird when the CEO of RY.co is proposing collaboration for RY Hotel when the hotel president is alive healthily? " She raised an eyebrow.
" Zhang Hao are all good, It is your turn now, Park Jihoon," Suryeon said, turning her back to her son as she walked back to the ballroom.
" Oh " She suddenly looked back " Spray some perfume before you get in. You reek of smoke "
" I'm bored " Soonhee muttered slowly, sipping the wine in her hand.
" Wanna dance? " Her brother asked.
" With you? Nuh-uh. I would rather wait for some handsome young CEO to propose to me "
Soonyoung's eyes went round as he snapped his head to her " Do you think there is a handsome man who wants you? " He shook his head " I don't think so "
A smack was heard as Soonhee smacked him hard on his arm, making him yelp in pain and clutching his arm.
" Anyway, why are you so eager to come here? As far as I know, you are not into a company dinner " Soonhee asked, swirling the liquid in her wine glass.

She turned her lips downward and bopped her head, understanding. Her eyes trailed around the ballroom. Clinging sounds were heard as the utensils hit the plate. With the sounds of laughing as people in suits chattering around.
Not until her eyes dropped on her mom who was standing on the side of the stage " Soon "
Soonyoung hummed, responding to her call.
" Isn't that mum? " Soonhee asked, pointing at the woman with her rose gold satin dress. Which made Soonyoung nod his head several times after he identified the said woman.
The two siblings watched their mum make her way to the stage. With another woman in her age on her side, walking side by side as they conversed and laughed together.
" Hello and good night, everyone " The woman on their mum's side spoke out through the microphone by the time she stood in front of the stand microphone, receiving a few shouts from the guests.
" Welcome to the dinner " She exclaimed, plastering a wide smile on her face " I hope all of you enjoy the meal "
" Okay, so I, Kim Suryeon happened to be here to make an announcement " Once she said that, the ballroom toned down their voice.
" And with me is Kwon Hwiyoung, the CEO of the Serenity Inn " Hwiyoung bowed and waved her hand to each angle of the space. A round of applause echoed through the ballroom as soon as they saw her.
Who didn't know her? Serenity Inn? The high-rising hotel which always got 5 stars in the review.
" We finally signed a contract to make a collaboration between RY Hotel and Serenity Inn. Please look forward to our work together " Suryeon claimed, making the ballroom full with another round of applauses
" And also, I would like to call my son, the president of the RY Hotel, Park Jihoon, and the vice president of Serenity Inn, Kwon Soonhee to get on the stage"
Soonhee and Soonyoung snapped their head to exchange glances. Both of them held a confused look in their eyes. Soonyoung just shook his head, showing that he didn't know anything either.
Well, who doesn't get flustered when her brother who is president of the hotel is not being called to the stage when this is supposed to be a relationship between the two businesses under their hold.
Also, Jihoon just let out a light sigh. If you asked him, he would say that he didn't know anything either but to go along with his mum's plan anyway.
Soonhee let out a shaky breath as nervousness kicked in her body. She glanced at the stage as she saw a young man already on the stairs of the stage, setting his way up to the stage.
Soonhee quickly lifted up her dress a little to ease her movement in a tight dress. She jogged lightly to the stage when they already averted their attention to the vice president.
Soonhee took her place beside her mum and took Hwiyoung's hand into hers as her mum shot her a loving smile which made her smile back.
" Apart from the collaboration, we have another good news " Suryeon claimed, turning her head to Hwiyoung as they wiggled their eyebrows.
Both Jihoon and Soonhee frowned in confusion. Not knowing where this is leading.
" My son, will be tying the knot with Hwiyoung's daughter "
The ballroom went silent as they exchanged glances with each other, shrugging and frowning. Same as Jihoon and Soonhee, all of them did not understand what she was trying to say.
Suryeon drew a smile and glanced at her son, nodding an encouragement which brought more and more confusion in his head.
" Park Jihoon will get married to Kwon Soonhee "
" This is ridiculous" Soonyoung uttered, running her fingers through his hair in frustration " Arranging a marriage for Soonhee? That makes no sense, mum " He threw his sight at Hwiyoung.
" You know, I can't be the head of the family "
" I can, mum. No need to send Soonhee to some stranger's family " he jeered, chest running up and down as he was breathless in anger. Soonhee scooted over him and grabbed his shoulder to soothe him down.
" I just wanted to help them, Youngie. Their hotel almost went bankrupt "
Soonyoung pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration " Signing a collaboration contract already be a good help for them mum! " he exclaimed. Suryeon lowered her head as she fidgetted her fingers.
To be honest, she knew Soonyoung going to be mad. But she didn't expect him to get worked up like this.
Seeing his mum was left numb in words, Soonyoung let out a heavy breath " I'm sorry " He uttered " I didn't mean to raise my voice "
Hwiyoung drew a bitter smile and nodded " It's okay "
Soonhee who just watched the two arguing now stepped up, making her way to her mum and embracing Hwiyoung's body. She drew a circle on her upper arm and smiled to loosen the tense around her mum.
She then threw her gaze at her brother " Stop it, Soon. I don't care at all " Soonhee convinced.
Soonyoung shut his eyes close and massaged his temple. " This is about your life, Soonhee. Do you think getting married is all about taking an oath and living together? No! " he shrieked.
" Love can be built, Soonyoung "
Both of them snapped their heads to Soonhee " So you agreed? " Soonyoung scoffed in disbelief
She shrugged " What can I do? They already announced it in front of the public. I can't refuse "
" This is not funny ma " He swayed his leg fast, trying to catch up with her mum's step
" I'm not pulling any joke " Suryeon easily answered, which made him stop abruptly and scoffed.
" Then, what was that? "
Suryeon took a deep breath as she exhaled slowly " Your grandpa, Jihoon. He wouldn't allow you to take the CEO position unless you are two years married "
Jihoon let out an unbelievable scoff " I don't care about that position, ma. That's yours and I don't even think to step up to that position "
Suryeon took the furious expression in her eyes and folded her arms across her chest " Yes, I know you didn't care. But I do "
Jihoon turned away and massaged his temple in frustration. If he followed his emotion, he would shout.
But Kim Suryeon is his mum.
Suryeon grabbed Jihoon's shoulders and pulled them to make him face her back " Listen "
