The story begins in the great land beyond earth, Skylands. The Skylands, made up of many floating islands, rested on a sea of clouds and home to many diverse people, strange creatures and dangerous monsters. The Skylands house many threats and are protected by the greatest heroes ever known, the Skylanders. The Skylanders would protect Skylands from many threats, and the one thing that could keep Skylands from corruption, the Core of Light.
The Core of Light rests in the center of the Citadel of Skylands, keeping the balance of light and dark in Skylands, without it, Skylands would slowly be brought to corruption. The Citadel also serves as the headquarters of the Skylanders and their way of getting around through the portals, controlled by the great portal master, Master Eon. Master Eon stood on the balcony as he was approached by his assistant, Hugo. Then, a large head appeared, floating alongside a large, flying castle and in front of some black fog.
Immediately, Eon knew who this floating head was, the most evil portal master in Skylands, Kaos.
Kaos:
Hahahahaha!!!!! Hello Eon!
Eon:
Kaos! What happened to your head? It looks ridiculous!
Kaos:
What?
It turns out Kaos was inside the castle, with his troll butler, Glumshanks, and the head was just for show.
Kaos:
My head is awesome!
Glumshanks:
Um, Lord Kaos, sir. I do not believe your head......
Kaos:
SILENCE GLUMSHANKS!!!!!!!!!
Back outside of the castle.
Hugo:
Master Eon, is this a bad thing happening?
Eon:
Does it look that way Hugo?
Kaos:
I came here to take down the Skylanders so I can rule all of Skylands, and that is what I shall do.
Eon:
Skylanders unite. We must not let him win. Take your place Hugo.
Hugo then runs into a hatch to hide from the battle. All the Skylanders ran out and got ready to fight, Kaos' minions then came out of nowhere and began to fight. The Skylanders fought valiantly and where taking out Kaos' minions like they were nothing. Back inside the floating castle, Kaos and Glumshanks walked around the portal in the center.
Kaos:
Brilliant, our plan is working great Glumshanks!
Glumshanks:
Uh sir, I hate to burst your bubble, but, we are losing the fight.
Kaos:
Oh silly Glumshanks, these minions were just to get the Skylanders away from the real target! Now we do what we came here to do.
Kaos channels magic into his "awesome" head, and it appears to have laser eyes. He points the vision at the Core of Light. Eon notices this and realizes that he took the bait.
Eon:
No, not the core.
Kaos' laser beam then shoots into the core's beam and it begins to overload. Eon knows what he must do, and that is to make sure the Skylanders live to fight another day, and save the Core of Light. He uses his powers and the Skylanders all have energy bubbles appearing around them. They then shoot up into the sky and are taken away from Skylands. The Core of Light then explodes and Kaos' castle is blasted away from the Citadel. Eon then goes limp and closes his eyes as the explosion engulfs him and his body completely disintegrates. Hugo got out of the bunker and saw the Citadel reduced to ruins.
Hugo:
Master Eon? Anyone?
Hugo realized that Kaos had destroyed the Core of Light, and that the corruption wouldn't take long to come. He then notices that he stepped on something, he looked down and saw it, the Book of Skylanders.
The book glowed a bit and Hugo saw that all the drawing were still there and completely intact, telling Hugo that the Skylanders were still alive and would return one day. He put the book away and would carry it to keep it safe. Meanwhile, the Skylanders were seen after Eon sent them away, however, as they got further and further away from Skylands, they began to shrink and were put on magical stones that would freeze them like statues. Finally, they reached the place where they would find a new portal master, earth. Somewhere in a forest, a pear of hiking boots were seen approaching a small, stone circle. The hiker got down on his knee and saw that it had a glowing substance, neither solid, liquid or gas, that was changing colors, and had small symbols around it.
He put his hand on it and all of a sudden, he saw visions of another world, he next was a floating, spirit head appear from within the clouds.
Eon:
Greetings young traveler, I am Eon, and I am here to guide you on a great journey. This is Skylands, a home to many of good and evil, however, Skylands isn't far from corruption, because of the destruction of the Core of Light. I have chosen you to take my place as the portal master. You must find the Skylanders and use the portal of power to send them back. But they can only stay in Skylands for a few hours at a time, so be quick about missions. My assistant, Hugo should help you, find the Skylanders, and rebuild the Core of Light before the corruption comes.
The hiker's vision stopped and he saw a map in his thought, that showed the location of thirty two Skylanders. He then new what to do, and how he would do it. He look a piece of paper, and a pencil from his backpack, and drew a map on paper of the locations. He then grabbed the portal, and began his search for the Skylanders, hoping he could before the corruption comes.
