The text message blinked on my screen. It was from KC.
Y/N: You there? K: Hey Y/N~Sama! Kawaii~Chan, Katelyn~Sama, and Aphmau~Senpai are having a pool party today at 3 pm. Kawaii~Chan hopes you can make it!
Y/N: Awesome! I'm in.
Right. Pool party prep time. I glanced at the Sailor Moon bikini I’d picked out earlier. I decided to layer a C/C top and ripped jeans over it, sandals on my feet, towel slung over my shoulder.
I arrived at Aphmau’s house around two, wanting to help set up. The back gate was already open, so I walked right in.
“Hey, Aph!” I called out as I spotted her.
“Hey, Y/N!” Aphmau replied, smiling.
“Need a hand?” I asked, taking a stack of plates from her and helping her arrange them on a picnic table.
I shed my top layer, revealing my bikini. Aphmau had chosen a purple one, Katelyn wore blue, and Kawaii~Chan sported a bright pink.
“I’m guessing you’re an anime lover,” Katelyn observed, watching me bounce with excitement next to Kawaii~Chan.
“In every group of friends,” I said, grinning, “there’s a geek, two Casanovas, an emo, a shipper or two, and a cute couple—plus a few others.”
“Well, I’ll tell you now,” Katelyn said, “we already have a Casanova. His name is Travis. We have an emo, Zane. We’ve definitely got a shipper, Kawaii~Chan. We just need to get the cute couple to get together. You’re the geek.”
Just then, Aaron walked through the gate.
“Who’s the cute couple?” Aaron asked, approaching us.
“Aarmau,” Kawaii~Chan and I said simultaneously, giggling.
“What?” Aaron asked, confused.
“Aphmau get over here!” I shouted.
“Yes?” Aphmau responded, walking towards us.
“Stand next to Aaron,” I commanded, and she obeyed.
“Okay. Now Aaron, put your arm around Aph.”
“Why?” he asked.
“Just do it,” I said, and he did, Aphmau blushing faintly.
“Now kiss!” I squealed, Kawaii~Chan joining in with delighted giggles.
“W-what?” Aaron stammered, his face reddening.
“Kiss!” I repeated, pulling out my phone.
“H-heh.” Aphmau squeaked, her cheeks flushing pink.
“Please Aaron. Just this once!” I pleaded, snapping pictures.
“U-ugh. F-fine. B-but only if Aph is o-okay with it,” he stuttered.
“S-Sure,” Aphmau whispered, and Kawaii~Chan and I shrieked with delight.
I focused on capturing the moment, ready for the inevitable.
——Aaron’s POV——
I leaned in, Aphmau mirroring the movement. I could feel Y/N’s phone clicking in the background.
Our lips met. I closed my eyes, a surge of something unfamiliar rushing through me as Aphmau did the same. Fireworks. Y/N and KC were squealing with excitement.
I pulled back, my face burning brighter than my jacket.
“Awwww… the ship has sailed!” Y/N shouted, grabbing Kawaii~Chan and running off in a flurry of excitement.
My face was still burning from the kiss.
“Heh. A-Aphmau?” I asked, finding my voice.
“Y-yeah Aaron?” she replied, her voice a little shaky.
“I-I would l-like to a-ask you a q-question,” I stammered.
“G-go on,” she said, her eyes wide.
“Will-will you be my g-girlfriend?” I asked, barely daring to breathe.
“Heh-of course I w-will A-Aaron,” she said, hugging me tightly.
“Okay. Looks like we do have a cute couple in the group,” Katelyn said, walking off to greet the others.
